Family and US Visit

Our family remains our greatest treasure, and we’re grateful for God’s hand over each of our kids. This May, we returned to the U.S. for the first time since moving to Korea in August 2022, to celebrate Ernest’s graduation from LSU! It was a precious time to reconnect with friends and spend time with family across several states. While in Billings, we also had the chance to meet with Americas Hand in Hand in person—a time of fellowship that simply can’t be replicated remotely.

Ernest is now with us in Korea, preparing to fulfill his mandatory military service as a Korean (dual) citizen. Pray for him to adjust well, grow deeper in his relationship with God, and use this season to reconnect with his Korean roots. Also pray for the Korean War to end, and the two Koreas to be reunited again!

Elizabeth is entering her second year of college, now based in Kansas City and surrounded by a strong circle of friends. We miss her, but she seems to be doing well! Pray for wisdom and grace in her studies, work, and relationships.

Joshua, in 5th grade, is growing in both height and good character. Still going strong in archery, yet now competing against older 6th grade students in the upper elementary division, he has not won medals this year. But he was one of only 20 boys his age in Korea selected for a national training camp coached by former Olympic medalists! From there, 4 boys may be chosen to represent Korea in an international competition in December. Pray for Joshua to grow in character, wisdom, and faith—and to aim well and shoot 10s in every area of life! Here, he poses with young Olympic gold medalist Kim Je-deok.

Prayer Retreats and Revivals

At Jinju International Prayer Center, our mission remains the same: to provide a place where people can meet God, experience breakthrough, and be renewed in His presence. Every day, we offer revival-style services with passionate worship, powerful preaching, and the tangible presence of the Holy Spirit. We regularly witness lives being transformed—people finding freedom from spiritual and emotional burdens, receiving healing, and encountering God in deeply personal ways.

Many who visited last year have returned, often bringing others with them. Word-of-mouth continues to be one of the main ways people discover the prayer center—especially during the busy summer months when churches bring groups to seek God together. We’ve seen a rise in younger pastors and families coming with open hearts, often longing for the kind of spiritual fire they’ve heard about from others.

We prepare simple activities like crayons and coloring pages for our youngest guests, but for older children and teens, we intentionally challenge them to engage with what God is doing. Middle schoolers are given sermon note sheets with prompts to help them listen actively and reflect during worship. Just last week, a 14-year-old boy was overwhelmed by God’s presence and began weeping during one of our evening services. He later shared that he feels called to serve the Lord and has a dream of using YouTube to reach others. Stories like his remind us why we do what we do—raising up a generation that knows God and is ready to carry His presence to the world.

Seminary Graduations

Last week, we joyfully celebrated the graduation of six students from our International Revival Seminary! Over the past three years, they’ve grown through hands-on ministry, daily worship, and revival-style preaching—not just learning about ministry, but living it.

It was a powerful moment to commission them to carry the fire of revival wherever God leads—whether continuing with us, returning to their churches, or stepping into new callings. Please pray that each one would walk in boldness, bear lasting fruit, and be led by the Holy Spirit in all they do.

Facilities and Systems

In March, an electrical short caused a fire that destroyed our kitchen. By God’s grace, no one was hurt, and the newly remodeled dining hall next door suffered only minor smoke damage. We had already been thinking about remodeling the kitchen, and this incident accelerated that need. Thanks to generous support—including a timely gift from Americas Hand in Hand—we were able to rebuild the kitchen better, safer, and more efficient than before. We also brought in an electrician to upgrade electrical systems throughout our facilities, making it safer for staff and guests alike.

Our live stream (at jinjupray.live) continues to grow organically. Among our audience are people Alongside these physical upgrades, we’ve seen encouraging progress in our ministry systems. Our livestream at jinjupray.live continues to grow organically, now reaching nearly 15,000 monthly viewers—almost double from last year. Many viewers find us online first, then visit in person. Others keep the channel playing to fill their homes with worship and prayer. We’ve also seen a gradual increase in younger viewers, which is an answer to prayer.

God has consistently sent just enough faithful workers to keep the center running. Every time someone transitions out, He provides someone new. We’re especially grateful for the people and systems now in place that have given us a bit more margin to pursue long-term vision. Still, we’re far from finished—please continue to pray for skilled, dependable staff who can grow with us and help carry this work forward.

Philippines Mission

One such opportunity for expanding into our longer-term vision came this June. While our primary calling is to serve in Korea, our vision has always had a global heart—and this summer, God opened a door in the nearby country of the Philippines. A Korean missionary there who had visited our prayer center felt led to invite us as the main speakers for a youth “Holy Spirit Camp” in a slum area of Quezon City—right next to a neighborhood (or barangay) called “Holy Spirit.” The church was “Holy Spirit Happy Church,” and the whole event felt like a perfect spiritual match!

In the middle of tough conditions and sweltering heat, we were deeply moved by the hunger of these young people and the vibrant way they worshiped. We shared from the heart, calling them to believe that the Holy Spirit can empower them to rise up as leaders who transform their world—not in spite of their background, but because of how God meets them in it and uses it to make them strong.

We’re still praying about what may come next. We may return in September to encourage local pastors in another region who are connected to this same missionary. Please pray for wisdom and guidance as we discern how to build lasting partnerships, and that the seeds planted in those youth would take root and bear fruit—through the fire of the Holy Spirit!

Community Outreach

Every Sunday afternoon, we continue hosting English Worship with Joshua’s friends—who are quickly growing out of childhood and into their teen years! We’re praying that through consistent time in God’s presence, they’ll come to know Him personally and receive His mission for their lives. Pray with us for their spiritual growth during these formative years.

Abraham also continues to teach a graduate-level AI Ethics course at Gyeongsang National University. It’s a meaningful opportunity to shape how students think not just about technology, but about human thriving and purpose. Pray that this influence will bear fruit both for the Kingdom and for the world these students will help shape.

• Next-generation impact: For Joshua’s English Worship friends, Abraham’s university students, and all the people we disciple—to encounter Jesus deeply and live boldly for His Kingdom.
